Why we need home automation?

Home Automation gives us access to control devices/ appliances in our home from mobile device anywhere in the world. Today's world going lazy day by day by using nano technologies.
Home automation provide extra convenience, energy and more efficiency & security Time saving.

Some main components i am using in project,

-Atmega16 Microcontroller, (we can use Atmega28 also)
-Bluetooth Enabled Mobile Phone (Android),
-Bluetooth Module HC-05,
-Relay(Lach) (4 Relay-4 channels),

other supporting components like resistors, transistors, connecting wires, etc. depends on ckt. design.

About Atmega16

--Hardware: 40 Pin Micro controller

--GPIO: 32 Pins

--Performance: 8 bit

--Computing: RISC

--Frequency: Max 16MHz

--Ports: PORT A, PORT B, PORT C, PORT D.

--Memory

>16 KB programmable flash memory,

>Static RAM of 1 KB

>EEPROM of 512 Bytes.

Working Principle

Connect Bluetooth module to the Android Mobile through the Bluetooth application (available on google play store).

Launch Downloaded Application and try to press keys as per your programming,

Bluetooth Module receive signals and Decode it. Send to Microcontroller and Relays connected to its pins( see in fig^^)

Relay is connected to the load by its pin. When Microcontroller receives the command from Transmitter (mobile) it operate Relay by its specific command.

Advantages

-Quick response is achieved

-Easy to maintain and repair.

-Design is efficient and low cost.

-Power consumption is low.

-Control electrical devices wirelessly.

-Saves electricity and energy.

-We Can control appliances manually.

Disadvantages

Limited no of E-Appliances can be controlled by this ckt.

Range is limited (up-to 15 m)

Future Scope

As we know there is an increasing demand for smart homes, we are thinking to make Bluetooth enabled remote control that connect from this project only. it is the same concept as tv remotes.
